2018 Victorian Christmas market + renovated Ockleston Memorial unveiling

On Saturday December 1st the latest Cheadle Victorian Christmas market took place on Cheadle Green, as well as outside St. Mary's church.

Many local traders and entertainers, as well as several thousand local people were in attendance in what was a highly enjoyable day for the whole community.

The Civic Society had its own stand on Cheadle Green and most of the committee members were appropriately dressed in period costumes.

In addition, a special unveiling took place for the newly renovated Ockleston Memorial which has been a very significant structure in Cheadle for more than 120 years and for which the Civic Society spent considerable resources paying for the repairs, renovation and removal back to a prominent position at the front of Cheadle Green, close to where it was installed originally in the late 19th Century.

The gallery of pictures below present a brief story of the day.
