Cheadle Royal Hospital bee-keeping

 

Former medical superintendent Dr Allan Roy and head gardener Mr A Falconer working as bee-keepers in the hospital's beehive. Dr Roy was the medical superintendent between 1922 and 1953 and oversaw significant changes and expansion at the hospital

Cheadle Royal Hospital cottage in grounds

A specialist residential treatment villa in the hospital grounds, now known as Elmswood. It was one of several villas built in the 1860s by the innovative young medical superintendent at the time called Dr George William Mould who saw the villas as being a way to provide treatment to some of the hospital's patients in a much more homely environment
