Cheadle Royal Hospital is one of the oldest specialist mental health institutions in the country, having originally opened in 1766, before relocating to its current site in Cheadle in the late 1840s -more than 170 years ago.

Today, it continues to provide very specialist health care to some of the most vulnerable people in society and also provides employment to many local people.
